Gurnard

You get two types of Gurnard, Red & Tub – both of which are extremely similar in taste, the only difference is Tubs are meatier, and a Red Gurnard is more Red in its colour.

Gurnard is an incredibly under-utilised fish in our waters, but it is starting to gain more popularity in restaurants, with more and more chefs using it in recent years, due to its beautiful flavour and great value.

Our recommendation –

Have this fish filleted, and enjoy it in a tomato based fish stew, with bold flavours such as Harissa running through.
